Overview: When ShowMax was asked to produce an
event in Las Vegas, we jumped at the opportunity to work in
arguably the biggest and best city in the world for
entertainment. No other city in the world has as many and as
large a production schedule as Vegas with over 40 million
visitors per year. Our main challenge was how to
design an amazing show while still being competitive with
Vegas suppliers and pricing.
Our team designed a full concert package including live band,
dj, lighting, decor, fabric, and a second stage that impressed even
the most jaded production professional in Vegas.
The audio system consisted of only thirty-six Xmax line
array cabinets that easily filled the room with crisp, clean
sound. The monitor system featured a full complement of
biamped monitor wedges, side fills and drum fills and performed
beautifully. In fact, one of the former guitarists from Guns
and Roses asked us to assist him with sound for a future show.
From a lighting standpoint, we wanted to lower the ceiling which
was large and cavernous to create more of an intimate
setting. We achieved this through the use of four truss boxes
with lycra treatments, LED tubes, LED bars and Mac 250
Entours. We added over 20 spheres hung at different lengths
and we created a new event scape. Stage wash was covered by
over 100 Source 4 Pars and Lekos and four 1.2K followspots.
The show went as planned and one budget and the producers were
thrilled with the production value, design and quality we were able
to import to the top show destination in the world.
