Project Overview: When
General Motors wanted to produce their Langley Cruisin' 2008 event,
they called ShowMax Events to look after this special, once a year
event. A large section of downtown Langley shuts down for
pedestrian traffic and for close to 100,000 people to enjoy
everything from classic to exotic vehicles. The event
displayed the best line up of GM vehicles along with some specialty
Nascar and custom Corvettes for the crowds to enjoy. Due to
time constraints, our team set up the entire event the night before
and it was completed in record time including nine truss arches,
tenting, banners, staging, audio, video gaming, generators for the
entire site, and power tool equipment for the pit
challenge.
The giant GM GARAGE entrance
arch greeted guests who enjoyed event features like the GM band,
free driving video games, the GM pit challenge which was a race
between two competitors to see who was faster at removing a tires
from a GM truck and a live dance performance by four members of the
BC Lions Felions dance team. If you missed it, and
you're into cars, then you'll want to catch this great event in
2009.
