Concept: Building on the
success of the Vancouver show two weeks prior, Invis asked us to
produce their Calgary Awards Show. This time, it was at a
venue half the size and half the ceiling height of the Vancouver
show. We designed the show around a room which had a lovely
ceiling that lent itself to illumination. White drapes hide
the walls and gave it a clean and open canvas for Dave Riley to
paint with lighting. And paint he did. We used over 60
LED fixtures for this event, and eight moving lights. As the
photos tell, it was a beautiful event with a very high production
level. The video was a three camera shoot including our new
IP camera that allows remote control opening up tons of additional
angles and close ups of audience and stage that a traditional
camera/tripod can't accommodate. The audio was crystal clear
thanks to the Xmax line array and Ian's mix. When the band
went on, our new Quad 18" subwoofers washed the room with
bass. This was one of those shows were everything turned out
better than expected and we were proud to be a part of
it.
